Duties: Assist the DOSM in order to maximise revenues of the hotel by driving maximum contribution from all producing segments through the various sources. Actively seek and secure new business whilst maintaining sound relationships with existing clients.
? Source new business for the company whilst maintaining existing relationships with current clients to maximise hotel revenue/sales.
? Promote and actively sell promotional activities at the Hotel to increase sales and customer retention.
? Responsible for maximizing total hotel revenues (rooms, banquets and outlets).
? Handle various segment accounts for the hotel and maximise revenue generation from these accounts through cold calling and relevant required face-to-face appointments per week.
? Build relationships, network & maintain regular contacts with all Leisure, Leisure Groups and Series accounts by means of a minimum of 15 – 20 sales calls per week or as required by the company.
? Be informed about the trends in hospitality, changing customer needs and behaviour, and developments in other industries.
? Host clients for regular FAM Trips, Hotel Site Inspections and entertainment, ensuring maximum visibility in the market while educating the relevant market segments on the hotel and the hotels various capabilities
? Ensure all sales reporting is done on a weekly and monthly basis
? Ensure the sales process is followed from start to finish, bringing in new leads, conversion of groups and bookings and then repeating the cycle
? Ensuring that all key information is passed onto the DOSM about the market, new supply in Cape Town and competitor trends and stats
? Build an accurate and effective database of current and potential guests/accounts and categorise database based on production and potential.
? Maintain accurate and up to date information on competition’s performance, sales & marketing strategy etc.
? Assist in implementing the sales & marketing plan for the unit.
? Identify key customer needs through formal research, survey, sales calls & meetings.
? A solid understanding on the market you will be focusing on as per the company’s requirements.
? Conduct site inspections and hosted functions at the hotel as per minimum requirements.
? Promote and actively sell Rooms and Food and Beverage outlets.
? Ensures that you work in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others.
? To be involved with Health & Safety within the department. Ensuring compliance within the department and that Health & Safety directives are carried out.
? Anticipate possible and probable hazards and conditions and either correct them or take action to prevent them from happening.
? Ensure that the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct maintained.
? Continuously endeavour to improve the department’s efficient operation, and knowledge of own job function.

Experience & Qualifications
? Minimum 3 years sales experience in the travel / tourism / hotel industry
? Grade 12 Certificate
? Certificate or Diploma in Sales & Marketing or Hotel Management
? Valid Drivers Licence and vehicle for day to day travel / appointments
? 3 Years experience in a similar position
