Job Description

FINANCIAL MANAGER, HOTEL

R25000.00 per month Cost to Company.

This includes a 13% compulsory provident fund contribution.

We offer medical aid but this forms part of the CTC package.

 

MUST HAVE

Hotel/lodge background.

ACCPAC & Pastel from an accounts perspective

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar field is crucial

 

RESPONSIBLE FOR

·         Sales & Marketing Reports Analysis

 

RESPONSIBLE TO

·         General Manager – Operations

·         Group CEO – Extraordinary

·         Manager – Finance

 

RESPONSIBLE FOR

·         Accounts Assistant

 

MAIN DUTIES

 

Management Accounts

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial controls over all aspects of the unit’s business.
  • Together with Operations Managers and General Managers, assist in compilation of budgets, development of programmes, schedules and objectives which will enable the efficient and most profitable running of the hotels.
  • Understand and interpret the financial accounts on a monthly basis of each property and to report back to the Group Chief Executive Officer on any anomalies.
  • Compile variance report on all overspends on budgets.
  • Compile monthly financial report and highlight variances, discrepancies and/or changes in policy or strategy.

Sales & Marketing Analysis

  • Ensure timeous delivery of property D&T Analysis reports for the compilation of data for presentation at monthly EXCO meetings.
  • Sales Revenue Analysis of Extraordinary Portfolio of properties.

Compilation & analysis of Sales & Marketing data as required on a monthly basis:

o   Forward Book Analysis

o   Sales Exec Analysis

o   Daily Availability

o   Trade Shows & Sales Trips

o   Comp Analysis

o   Site Eds & Barters

 

Operations

  • Assist in the creation of growth and profitability.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in all aspects of hotel financial management.
  • Liaise, co-ordinate and follow up with Operations Managers on activities relating to the finances of the various hotels.
  • Complete various projects as outlined by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Project work on upgrading, feasibility of new venues and productivity improvements as designated by the Chief Executive Officer.

General

  • Liaise, co-ordinate and follow up with Operations Managers on activities relating to the finances of the various hotels.
  • Attend financial reviews together with Operations Managers.
  • Monthly payroll & Statutory submissions
  • Perform any other ad hoc financial activities that may be required from time to time.
